TECH: New Landscape of Business

Jerry McCune, CEO of E-Media Sites of Lawrenceville recently reviewed The World is Flat, by Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas L. Friedman. McCune states that the book is required reading for business owners in the digital age:

The flattening and shrinking of the world has enormous impact on economies, businesses, communities and individuals. The security concerns from 9/11, the rise of identity theft, immigration and trademark infringements requires that we understand globalization now. Maybe your web site needs multiple language options? Are you innovating or just keeping up? How much are your labor costs impacted by employees surfing on your time and equipment? The new landscape requires consideration.

Does Internet security and employee Internet use effect your business?

Rob-Tammy is the administrator of the site. Maybe she disagreed with herself. LOL. I mean to get the book also. Thomas Friedman wrote the Lexus & the Olive Tree. Not sure what that is about but his perspective seems to be broad when I saw him on NewsHour.

Micro-Soft Bitten by Cybersquatters

Even giant Microsoft worries over "cybersquatters" who register 2000 domains each day, using common misspellings of trademarked terms like xbox36.com to profit from pay per click ads, and phishing. One US business had 324 such domains and was using a foreign privacy service to hide their identities.
